Â
Last year, Moxa introduced the DA-682, an x86-based rackmount embedded computer with modular flexibility. The DA-682 features two PCI slots for inserting expansion modules. A variety of communication modules are available, including an 8-port RS-232/422/485 module, a 4-port 10/100 Mbps LAN module, and a universal PCI expansion module. The design is user-friendly, allows application-centric customizability, and offers the distinct advantage of quick and easy module swapping.

Â
The flexibility of the DA-682 has been further augmented by the release of two new modules. The two new modules are an 8-port RS-422/485 module (DA-SP38-I-TB) and an 8-port switch module (DA-SW08-RJ), bringing the total number of available modules to seven. Notably, these seven modules are not merely for the DA-682, but can also be used with future DA series models of x86 rackmount embedded computers, making these modules a potential enhancement for both existing and future equipment.
Â
Module features:
• PCI interface
• 8 RS-232/422/485 software-selectable serial modules with isolation protection
• 4 10/100 Mbps LAN modules
• 8 10/100 Mbps unmanaged switch modules
• Universal PCI expansion module
• 8 RS-422/485 serial modules with terminal block connectors
• Fully compatible with Moxa's rackmount embedded computers with peripheral expansion slots

Rcore Ready-to-Run Embedded Software Platform
All of Moxa's embedded computers come with the operating system pre-installed. In addition, middleware, sample code, and tools are provided to give programmers a user-friendly environment for application development, essentially minimizing the effort for system integration.
